Red wiggler earthworms (Eisenia Fetida) are among the finest composters in the world as they are able to devour half their body weight a day. In addition the castings are among the finest organic fertilizers. At Nature’s Little Recyclers we raise our worms in a regulated indoor facility and we feed them quality foods (such as coffee grounds vegetables and cardboard) thus making them excellent food for fish lizards amphibians and other pets. About Nature’s Little Recyclers: Nature’s Little Recyclers is a recycling plant dedicated to providing a greener solution to clean soil. Our facility is located in Back of the Yards a neighborhood in Chicago with a high green-tech focus. We take organic waste-such as coffee grounds vegetables and cardboard-from local businesses in Chicago and feed it to our worms which are bred in sustainable conditions in our facility. As the worms eat (and essentially “recycle”) these materials they create worm castings which is rich in nutrients and free of chemicals thus making it a great fertilizer for both conventional and organic plants. These worms had been in transit for 7 days, and it’s been 95 degrees here every day. I was very concerned…. But they arrived this morning, they are happy and healthy. I’m using them in a worm composter. I don’t know who is more excited, myself or the worms. I can say my bride is the least excited. But she will be ok if I let her use some for fishing. Will definitely buy again if I need more worms. I mean really, can you ever have enough worms?

I didn’t know anyone with worms to get some to start a worm bin so I bought these. It’s more money to start, but a great kit. Worms were packaged well and slightly dehydrated (on purpose) for shipping to make them sluggish and durable for shipping. Hydrated them and added to bin with a little food as instructed. They all came back to life within an hour and have devoured my food scraps ever since. I’ve had them indoors for months and feed them all my scraps. I’m sure they’ve doubled in population by now. The bin is in my bedroom with no odor (if fed properly). They’re so fun! I feel like a kid again excited to dig through the bin and watch my food scraps disappear!
